Lucrative Link Popularity

Having a popular link is the best way to help a page reach the top ratings of most search engines. Link popularity has gained such importance, because most search engines are using it to gauge a page’s importance.

Search Engine Optimisers are divided upon the issue of the importance of link popularity, for they believe that the relevance of a link should be a greater determining factor than simply popularity of a link. Therefore, if you are looking to increase the SE ratings of your website, put in few quality links, relevant to your website, rather than too many irrelevant links.

Those SEO people who justify the importance of link popularity, go on to assert the real importance on the anchor text (the word or phrase actually linked) to target phrases or keywords. They believe numerous keyword rich anchor texts in your links are better suited to get you to the top half of the SE ratings.

It is quite clear that if you follow either of the two methods you are going to benefit. But common sense would urge us to use both the techniques. I see no harm in putting many links with rich anchor keywords as well as putting few links, but highly relevant ones. It will surely only improve your websites SE rankings further.

A big site addressing a variety of topics would deal with many keywords, as well as numerous links with keywords which may or may not be targeted by accident and get you traffic.
